Task 1. Legal framework of ICT in ESO

ICT is not a complementary tool, but it is necessary for learning in the real world we are immersed nowadays. The globalization and the impact of new technologies have made students have a different way of learning, communicating or carrying out a task. That it why students need to be an active element in the learning process.
The incorporation of technology will help the adaptation of the education to the necessities each individual has. It will help to expand the knowledge limits and motivated students will enter to educational resources of very varied institutions. Above all, if we really want ICT to become a fundamental piece in the change of methodology it is needed to consider it as the main support in the development of the academic role. What is important to highlight and the legal framework sets aside is that students need to learn with new technologies and should not be taught to know new technologies.
ICT is the key tool for the permanent training of teachers and citizens but if during the learning process ICT has not been used as a tool of construction of critical thinking, it is impossible to make individuals use them as such. ICT should be the tool with which the learning process is carried out. In short, we do not need to know more about new technologies but to know how to use them properly.

Task 4. Tar Heel Reader

School level:
2nd year of Secondary Education.

Point out the topics of the curriculum:
The main aspects of the curriculum and what can be included in the story will be to use the Past Simple and tell a travelling experience taking into account all the structures and vocabulary seen all along the unit: Travel tales.

Objectives:
The objective of this activity is to work with new technologies and show students that they can enjoy while learning at the same time. The aim of this activity is them to continue George’s story in order to create different endings for the one the teacher presents as a model the students need to follow.
The best thing is not to set too many rules in order the students to be quite free and let them work without restrictions. In a way it will be a nice activity to see their voices recorded by a machine while telling their story.

Target language to be used:
The language they need to use is English.

Criteria of assessment:
As I have already said it is not a good idea to give a lot of instructions in exercises like this one, because by doing so the students’ imagination gets restricted. The things that will be taken into account will be the way to use the structures and the connection of ideas. But above all: the imagination!
