Task 10. Create a webquest

ACTIVITY ONE

Let’s talk about Mexico!
Here you have a map of Mexico where you should find the following areas:
1- Find Mexico’s capital, Mexico City, and paint it in yellow.
2- Locate the Pacific Ocean and paint it in blue.
3- Locate the Gulf of Mexico and paint it in orange.
4- Find the Gulf of Campeche and paint it in brown.
5- Locate the Yucatan Peninsula.
6- Locate the Baja Peninsula.
7- Find the Sonoran Desert.
8- Trace the path of the Rio Grande in purple.
9- Trace the USA border in black.

Copy the image and use Paint to point out those areas. You could use this map to help you:

ACTIVITY TWO


Now it’s time for reading a little bit. You should go to the National Geography website and read the Nature, People & Culture and History sections in order to answer these questions:
1- Where is Mexico located?
2- What kind of species could you find in Mexico’s west coast and eastern Mexico?
3- What is the origin of Mexican people?
4- How important are sports in Mexico?
5- Where was the first complex society created?
6- Which were the diseases that Spanish people brought to the Aztecs?

Write An Aztec Story. Find out what Aztec life was like in other websites. See if you can find out what they ate, what their houses were like, and what typical activities they had. Then write a short story featuring the daily life of an Aztec youngster.

ACTIVITY SIX  

It's your turn! Write a booklet report about a real trip to Mexico. You should include the most important sightseeings, some details about the people, its culture and traditions and anything you consider interesting.
